Our current life situation has brought us to a place of new and renewed time and space to explore simple things in our lives that we may not have had the time or inclination for in past times. Are you open to new ways of doing things and new things to learn? While I am retired and time has not been an issue in recent years I have been thinking of my children and grandchildren and what this means for them and how I can help them see life in a new way. After all, isn't that what artists do on a daily basis? See things in a new way, different perspective. Time for us all to be creative in our temporary "new normal".
With this in mind I encourage you to keep a journal of your experiences and each day list three things you have done differently vs automatically. Then doodle, sketch, draw, paint, cook, pray, observe, and where possible get as close to nature as you can. Even if it is watching the birds from your window.
I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised and maybe amazed at the three new things you were open for each day.
My contribution in today's journal was to just play with some materials I haven't used in a while as my thoughts wandered the springtime just around the corner. Color and nature is always my go to for lifting my spirits and allowing me to feel grateful for the present.
I pray daily for those immediately affected by the virus and for our professionals on the front lines and for our leaders to find solutions but most of all I pray for the global opportunity this provides for us all to realize we are all connected and must help one another physically, emotionally and spiritually.
God Bless!
